WAUGkid speak out

Hey! This is Kyyatta calling out to you folks reading Blogger in 2007 or later!
I am a member of the WAUGkids, kids who will be born in 2050 or later, or maybe a little earlier, but anyway, we need to tell you how we feel, and it isn't good.
From our vantage point in the future (who says you can't see backward and forward in time - it's just another dimension, you know!), we can see you guys in the GDNG doing nothing to stop the incredibly horrible legacy you are creating from coming down on us and making our lives really "suck," to use one of the coarser expression you guys invented.
The three really big deals you are screwing up are stability among the peoples of earth, meaning there's going to be a lot more wars and terrorist actions in the coming years, and "you ain't seen nothin' yet," as the old time hawkers on Coney Island used to say after you paid to see the bearded lady and the two-headed calf.
Well, war and terror are one thing you are going to leave to us to deal with. Why? Because the GDNG (Great Do Nothing Generation) is happy to keep looking the other way when politicians, despots, rapcious corporations, sleazy credit companies and racist and fanatic lunatics oppress people so badly and for so long that the resentment boils over into revolution, civil war, terrorism, and protracted hate and reciprocal enmity that results in huge losses of life and the destruction of cultural icons, artistic treasures, inspiring temples, cathedrals, mosques, and government buildings, and the collective knowledge and human discoveries that will be wiped out when national libraries, universities, academies, schools, and data bases are obliterated for corrupted beyond redemption by a nuclear holocaust or simple barbarism and rioting.
You've heard enough from me. Please get into some kind of activism and give future generations a break. Oh! WAUGkids are in the "What About Us? Generation" coming in the furture.
Bye,
Kyyatta, from what used to be Tuvalu, but got submerged when the ice caps melted. You can read about Tuvalu in the U.N. Chronicle, 2007 - Google.com can find it for you!

New Message from the Waugkids

Hey, this is Dr. Waug. One of my WAUGkids posted a blog on WAUGkidsWeb a few minutes and he said you could write to me, but he gave the wrong Email address. To send me Email, write to WAUGkids@gmail.com That way I'll get it.

Check the previous blog to find out what WAUGkids means.

Dr. Waug

WAUG kids Web

We are the WAUG kids! We aren’t on the planet yet, but we’ll be here, for sure, sometime in next eighty or ninety years, and boy, are we worried!

We will have to live on the planet Earth where things are changing very fast, and where some nations that are really great today are on the edge of a disaster that will make them pitifully poor and shamefully guilty of a lot of harm.

We are going to have to work a lot harder than you guys in the early days of the 21st century ever had to, and for what?

Some of us “WAUG” kids are going to be born in what is now the great United States. That means, as things are developing right now, we’ll be seeing a whole lot of sad faces everywhere as people who were doing okay in 2007 reach age fifty or sixty and have a really hard time getting by because the dollars they have in their pockets are not worth very much.

People in other places will be doing better financially, but what good does that do if they, like you, can’t breathe the air, and lakes are drying up, great aquifers are emptied (after gathering water underground for thousands of years!) and the rivers are full of lead, vanadium, cadmium, mercury, and old plastic cups and bags that have been there for years and won’t ever go away?

Some of us will be born in Africa. There might be plenty of animals running around the plains there while you're alive, in 2010 or so, now, but people with guns are doing their best to be sure that we’ll never enjoy seeing or hearing those big herds, and animals like mountain gorillas and elephants and leopards and all will have to be born in a zoo to survive at all.

You people are enjoying SCUBA diving in the beautiful clear waters around your coral reefs. But what about us? It’s really true, you know, the corals are not rocks! They are living creatures, and they are doomed to die a slow death over the next few decades, so a lot of us won’t be able to see them as you see them.

Me and my friends call ourselves the “WAUG kids.”

You want to know why? Because we all stand here hollering, “Hey, What About Us?” You get it?
We are the What (W) About (A) Us(S) Generation (G)!
What are you doing to help us get by? What are you doing to stop the wrecking of the planet? What are you doing to stop upsetting the atmosphere? That’s what all this “Climate Change” talk is all about. Mess up the atmosphere, you mess up the ocean, you mess up their interplay, and that messes up the weather, which is simply the back-and-forth action and reaction of the planets thin layers of water and atmosphere. You mess that up, and you mess up the way of life of every living thing on the whole planet!

So look out. You are getting ready to pass on one of the most ridiculous, stupid, and regrettable legacies any generation of living people has ever passed on to the following generations.

You know, you have a moral duty to do better than that. You have a moral duty to pass on a thriving, orderly, abundant planet. It was pretty much that kind of a planet when you entered it, but it won’t be when you leave, and if you don’t do anything about it, who’s at fault? Who’s the GDNG person living in your house? I’ll tell you: It’s you, if you don’t get yourself up and start doing what needs to be done to fix the earth. Oh, what doe GDNG stand for?
“Great Do Nothing Generation.” Just like the generations that practiced all kinds of cruel barbaric invasions of weaker countries, just like the explorers who brought all kinds of European diseases into populations in the Pacific and in the “New World,” which resulted in all kinds of suffering in the so-called Age of Exploration, and people who spread all kinds of superstitions and false hopes and ignorance around the world in the past, often with no real malice or even a hint that what they were doing was wrong or would have negative results, you are sitting there reading this blog and enjoying you air conditioning and planning to buy a “clean” car that will run on hydrogen or electricity, and you think you’re doing something okay for the planet! And you actually think since your new car will run without gasoline, it will be better than your old one? Do you think electricity is made out of wind and rain? It could be, of course, but it won’t be, if the wall socket you plug it into every night is powered by diesel generators or coal or natural gas. . . . All you’re doing is wasting energy by bringing it in through a long copper wire from a distant fossil fuel burning power plant, and charging your battery. You car will run without creating carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxides under its hood, but those things have to be formed somewhere, even if its far from your hometown! And remember, when the power plant transmits electric energy to your house, some of the energy is wasted as heat in the movement from one place to the next, so plugging an electric car into an outlet actually wastes energy!

There’s crazy spending going on in some of the “smart” countries. They are losing money every day because they are buying cars and the fuel to run them from other countries, and then they have to borrow money from the people they buy from in order to pay their own bills and the interest on the money they borrow! I may not be born yet, but I’m not stupid. Me and my friends are really getting sore watching the way you guys live, back there in the early years of our century. How old fashioned and ignorant are you guys, anyway? I can’t believe you let your governments do and say all the stupid stuff they do, like trying to solve problems by going out and killing people far away and trying to set up governments that will allow them to continue acting stupid in spite of that the people in those far off places really want to do.

I mean, unfairness is what makes people mad enough to kill you and blow themselves up to hurt you. What have you done lately to get your leaders to talk honestly? To fight a war on unfairness? On stupidity? On ignorance? Tanks and planes and brave young military people can do wonderful things for a good cause, but when there are so many cases of injustice and oppression and cruelty and superstition and ignorance and foolishness and greed everywhere, why do we see the really prosperous-looking nations acting like such bullies and failing to see what’s really at the root of all this trouble in the world?

I’m going to sign off this blog. I want to thank our friend, Dr. Waug, for posting this little message to the people of the Blogosphere of 2007. I’m not alone when I tell you, everyone in the WAUG group is hoping you’ll take us seriously and go actually do something about unfairness, crazy economic policies, and the wrecking of the planet. Don’t fix it so you’ll go down in history as a member of the GDNG (Great Do-Nothing Generation). Please, for the sake of you own bloodline who will be alive in 2050, or 2075, or even 2200, please get to work and do something. Write to Dr. Waug at WAUGkids@gmail.com and encourage him. He’s doing us WAUG kids a huge favor by setting up this Blog for us.
See you later!
